I just wanted to let you know that I just got my results this morning and I got a 76% for Operations Management- I ended up getting 5 distinctions and 2 high merits overall, with operations being one of my highest marks, so I’m really happy. I just wanted to thank you so much for your help and guidance throughout studying for this exam. I was really struggling with it before we started our sessions, and to be honest I didn’t really enjoy the module at all. The sessions with you were so helpful because you taught in a way that I understood and I ended up finding it a really interesting subject. I never felt embarrassed about asking you questions and spending a lot of time on an area I didn’t understand, which I have in previous classes and with previous tutors- and it’s because you were such a great teacher, encouraging me to ask questions and being patient with me when I struggled. Great course. It teaches you exactly what it says it will and provides a solid underpinning for other parts of the specialisation. As somone with a Finance background and no previous knowledge of management I feel this course explained the theories well.

Very keen and enthusiastic
In terms of David's work, I have always found him very keen and enthusiastic. However, perhaps all of this pails into insignificance when you consider that David has a commitment to our students which is second to none and provides students with a level of service to which may other tutors aspire.
Students welcome and respond positively to David's style and approach and I believe, as a result of working with David on two separate modules over three separate semesters, the students have positively benefited in terms of their overall level of attainment.
Within this module, David is running a motivational debate via the discussion forum. This element of teaching is well received by students and has, what I believe, to be the highest level of engagement of all discussion forums across the institution
Very positive in terms of learner experience and enrolment
I have worked with David and Oliver of DJ Learning most recently on a project connected with the launch of the University of London Global MBA. As part of the preparation of students enrolling for the programme we deemed it good practice and critical for some applicants to assess their competencies in a range of disciplines. We packaged the short courses as ‘International Business Essentials’ which consisted of six Massive Open Online Courses (‘MOOCs’) delivered through the University’s partnership with Coursera. David and Oliver designed and developed two of the MOOCs ‘Professional Skills for International Business’ and ‘Management Skills for International Business’. The MOOCs were launched to timescale and offered to students around the world as open access and with certification on completion of assessment for a small fee. The initial response has been very positive in terms of learner experience and enrolment with over 5,000 enrolling within the first month of being offered. The project builds on a relationship with David spanning many years when he has always demonstrated a great enthusiasm to support learners from all backgrounds to achieve their potential

Oliver is motivated, enthusiastic and has an extremely positive attitude in the workplace. He has bags of energy and is always willing to take on extra responsibility and development.

Also, during my Swansea visit, worked with him directly for product as well as tool transition. His visit to India to help us with tool transition was amazing. His support to the ops team was tremendous.

Oliver (Oli) has a keen eye for detail, is incredibly diligent, and has excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.

Oli is an incredibly well rounded individual and a very safe pair of hands. He works diligently and meticulously and has excellent organisation skills. He gives his 100% to any task thrown in front of him and would be an excellent asset to any company looking for a down to earth individual who is also an exemplary team player

Oliver has a "can do" attitude that is both refreshing and pleasing in a very high pressure environment.
He has proven that he is both dilligent and thorough in his work and has always delivered any project or change to very high standards.

Warm welcome
Students were warmly welcomed to the workshop which started promptly. A lengthy introductory session gave students valuable insights into the issues and challenges facing their fellow students. This set a collegiate tone which added to the learning over the weekend. This was further strengthened by the tutor drawing on his own substantial knowledge and experience.
Positive and encouraging persona
The tutor was well prepared for the workshop and presented a positive and encouraging persona throughout the weekend. He emphasised that the focus would not be on scraping a pass but rather “setting our standards as high as we can go”.
Enjoyable and informative
The workshop was seen as enjoyable and informative. Students felt it had given them confidence and focus in their studies and that they were motivated to sign up for the exams and move forward in their studies.
Warm endorsement
Students gave a warm endorsement to the skills of the tutor and to the workshop overall.
Particular mention was made of the tutor’s ability to draw all students into the learning and to make full use of the range of knowledge, skills and experience evident in the group. Students recognised that the tutor had given them the tools required to approach their forthcoming assessments rather than ‘spoon feeding’ them.
